In line with its identity as The Greenest Sevens in the World, the tournament has intensified efforts to embed Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) principles and values into every aspect of its organisation. Key initiatives include waste reduction, responsible sourcing, community engagement, and environmental education. Borneo Sevens is positioning itself as one of the pioneering rugby tournaments in Malaysia focusing on sustainability, community engagement, and responsible event delivery.
As part of the 2026 programme, organisers, partners, and stakeholders will participate in a tree-planting initiative at the Rainforest Discovery Centre, contributing directly to environmental conservation efforts in Sabah.
